Villa Sola Cabiati is one of the most beautiful villas in the Lake Como area (Lombardy, Italy). It is described by many as a “pearl” of Lake Como. This great masterpiece of neoclassical architecture was built in the 16th century.

We (me and my wife) found this villa accidentally when passed by. And I can say it is really one of the most beautiful villas on the coast. It’s very old and it looks gorgeous.
It was a rainy day when I made the photo. It means no light, no color, no luck. But when I started to process the photo I found out that everything is not so bad. No light, ok a a bit more time on post processing. No beautiful colors, ok convert it to monochrome, it looks even better. I showed it to my wife, listened to her criticism, and altered it again and again. I think, this time I retouched every pixel of the photograph to avoid any over- or underexposed areas and make it look exactly as I want.
In the final version I made everything like it was captured on film. Monochrome palette slightly shifted to the warm brawn side looks like the old photos of my grandma. I even decided to add some grain artificially to make it look even older and to emphasize the age of the building.
And finally… it is done! Oooh… The great thing is the fact that I absolutely love the result.
Please tell me what you think. I will be very happy to hear your opinion does not matter good or bad.
